Visa Information

  1. Stay visa, duration of stay up to 90 days – duration of stay should be specified on the visa application form.
  2. Long stay visa, duration of stay up to 365 days- for work and study ONLY
  3. Transit visa, duration of stay up to 5 days -only for transit through Poland to another country (not intended for short stays in Poland).

In order to obtain a Polish visa the applicant must present the following documents:
  • completed and signed visa application form
  • passport valid for at least 3 months from the date of intended departure from Poland
  • 1 passport size photograph
  • money order or cashier's check to the value of consular fee - visa applied for. Personal checks are not accepted.
Citizens of Ukraine do not pay for visa- it is issued free (for stay and transit).

Citizens of Bielarus and Russian Federation- according to bilateral agreement pay for visa different amount , please note see the table.

If a person resides in the USA - copy of "green card" or other document confirming permanent residence.

U.S. CITIZENS DO NOT NEED A POLISH VISA WHEN TRAVELING TO POLAND FOR A STAY UP TO 90 DAYS OR TRANSIT - NOT FOR WORK.

It is possible to extend stay in Poland for more than 90 days (up to 6 months). In order to do so it is necessary to get extension of visa for next 90 days from relevant office in Poland.

It is necessary for a person traveling to Poland to have sufficient financial means to cover his/her stay and departure from Poland (approx. $100 a day- cash, credit cards and travelers checks). In case of work visa also work permit from Poland has to be sent to Consulate in order to process visa application.

Processing visa application takes approx. 7 days. In urgent cases (processing in 24 hours) additional charge of $34.00 will apply. Please note that this type of service is not always possible.

The documents are sent back via US Registered Mail. For FedEx delivery, please add $12 /$16.00 for Saturday and overnight delivery/.
